Literature Text

“Gone now”

Now that you’ve left
And the angers left my chest
I want you gone from my head
Gone from my life
You meant so much, to me
To your friends
All of whom you left abandoned
Like old broken toys
That can never forget the betrayal
But for most of us
You still exist in our heads
Running little circles
Never allowing us to forget
The happiness that at one time
Was so apparent on our faces
Now our faces are worn and cracked
The paint peeling, fading
Just old broken toys,
But toys we remain
We exist without you
And when you get tired
Of the new shiny toys
And look for the old
We’ll be gone
Thrown away
Where you left us
And with hope,
You’ll finally be forgotten.
Another poem for amy, a friend who walked away from friendship when it was needed most....and a little of my bitterness thrown in.
